A4Hike is a GPS tool helping you to hike along a predefined GPX track and/or record a GPX track.
A4Hike provides your position, speed and height:
Lat/Long Decimal
DMS
UTM
speed and height
A4Hike provides for current recording:
average speed
distance
height +/-
duration
speed & height chart
A4Hike provides map display:
reference track
current recorded track
current position & bearing
Finally, A4Hike checks your position according to the reference
track and warns you if you move off track.

Main panel
At the top you have a set of icons representing the current state of
the
GPS,
movement,
recording
off track indicator.
Below is the display of the current position as well as a few
statistics.
First row of buttons:
Start : Start recording of a new track
Stop : Stop current recording and save it to disk (on SD card in
the A4Hike folder). Recording is saved as GPX track and as a CSV
file containing all you need to analyse your hike.
Cancel : Cancel the recording without writing the track to disk.
Map : Show the map with the reference and current track and the
current position and bearing
Second row of buttons:
Load RT : Load the reference track (it requires a file explorer)
from the SD card.
Clear RT : Clear the reference track
Stats : Display speed and heiht chart of the current recording.
Reserved for future use.
Third row of buttons:
Quit
Backg. : Move application to background and keep recording.
Settings : See next screenshot.

Settings panel
With this panel you can select units you're confortable with, set your
name (for saving GPX) and off track threshold in meters.
Import GPX track
In order to import a GPX track you need to install a general purpose
file explorer from the Android Market (ES File Explorer for instance).
Create a GPX track with your favorite software application or
with OpenRunner and save it as
GPX.
Copy the GPX file onto the memory card of your mobile phone.
Launch A4Hike and clic the Load RT (Reference Track) button. It should
trigger the file explorer with which you can select your GPX file.
Export GPX track and CSV
Export
Files:
GPX track are stored in /sdcard/A4Hike/gpx
CSV files are stored in /sdcard/A4Hike/csv
You can export them by connecting your mobile phone to your computer
or through email.
